Do you groom large and giant breed dogs? Yes, we specialise in grooming large and giant breed dogs. Our mobile grooming van is fully equipped to safely and comfortably handle bigger dogs, from Labradors and German Shepherds to Great Danes. We do not offer Newfoundland grooming because our van setup is not suitable. Every session is one-to-one, so your dog receives our groomer's full attention.
Is mobile grooming a good option for large dogs that dislike car journeys? Absolutely. Many large breed owners struggle with car travel — whether it's lifting a heavy dog, fitting them safely in the vehicle, or managing their anxiety during the journey. With mobile grooming, we come directly to your door. There's no car journey, no unfamiliar salon, and no waiting around with other dogs. It's the calmest, most convenient option for bigger dogs.
Which service is best for Labradors, Golden Retrievers and German Shepherds? For most large double-coated breeds, we recommend our Signature Bath & Style as a regular maintenance groom. This includes a deep bath, blow dry, normal de-shed and brush-out, and hygiene tidy. Our Thick / Double Coat De-Shedding add-on is only needed if the coat is overdue or shedding unusually heavily and needs substantially more undercoat removal than normal. For breeds that need a haircut, our Signature Full Groom is the best option.
Do large double-coated dogs need de-shedding or a full groom? It depends on the breed. Double-coated dogs like Labradors, Huskies, and German Shepherds should never have their coat clipped short, as it protects them from heat and cold. For these breeds, a regular Bath & Style is ideal, and normal de-shedding is already included; the de-shedding add-on is only for overdue or very heavy coats. Breeds with continuously growing hair that happen to be large (such as Doodles or Old English Sheepdogs) will benefit from a Full Groom with a proper haircut and styling.
My large dog is older, stiff or nervous. Can you still groom them? Usually, yes. Grooming one-to-one in a quiet van at your door means no car journey, no busy salon and no other dogs around. We work at your dog's pace and take breaks when they need them.
