A thick double coat with long feathering — washed, blown out and tidied rather than clipped.
From £65 · typical visit 70–85 min
Golden Retrievers carry a water-resistant topcoat over a soft, dense undercoat, with feathering on the ears, chest, legs, trousers and tail. Loose undercoat packs into the feathering and behind the ears, which is where tangles usually start. The coat sheds all year and more heavily at seasonal changes, so it needs a thorough blow-out rather than a surface brush.
Two layers — a coarse topcoat over a dense undercoat that blows out twice a year. These coats are never clipped short; they are washed, blown out and de-shedded. That puts Golden Retrievers on our Signature Bath & Style package.
Best for: Goldens on a regular 6–8 week cycle; normal de-shedding is included, with extra time only if the coat is overdue or unusually heavy.
Not suited to: Shaving the body coat. A double coat is tidied and thinned, not clipped down.
Bath & Style — every 6–8 weeks — Bath, blow-dry, de-shed and a tidy of feet, feathering and tail. See also add-ons & extras.

We groom Golden Retrievers across Glasgow, Paisley, Newton Mearns, Clydebank and every area on our service map.
Around every 6–8 weeks suits most Goldens, with brushing at home a few times a week. During heavier seasonal shedding an extra de-shed between visits can help.
Yes. We brush out and neaten the feathering on the ears, legs, chest and tail so it looks tidy and stays manageable, without cutting away the coat's natural shape.
We do not recommend it. The double coat helps regulate temperature and protect the skin, and clipped coats can grow back unevenly. Removing loose undercoat is the better way to keep a Golden comfortable.
