What to Expect for Your Puppy's First Mobile Groom

Nervous about your puppy's first grooming appointment? It is completely normal to worry about them feeling scared or overwhelmed by the noise and new faces.

A mobile groom is actually one of the gentlest ways to introduce a puppy to the process. Because we come to you, your puppy gets one-on-one attention in a quiet, distraction-free environment right outside their home, completely skipping the stress of a busy salon.

What we need from you

• A safe, flat parking spot (driveway ideal; kerbside is often fine).
• Clear access so we are not blocking roads or driveways.
• A few of your puppy's favourite, high-value treats to help build positive associations.
• A quick heads-up if parking is restricted or tricky.

When should a puppy have their first groom?

We recommend booking their first session as soon as they are fully vaccinated. The earlier we can introduce them to the sounds of the water, the clippers, and the dryer, the more comfortable they will be with grooming for the rest of their lives. What happens during the first appointment?

The first visit is all about trust. We focus on a "puppy trim" rather than a full, intensive haircut. This usually includes a warm bath, a gentle blow-dry, nail trimming, and tidying up the face, feet, and hygiene areas. If your puppy gets tired or stressed, we take breaks.
