Understanding the French Bulldog & Boxer coat
Smooth, short coats need no haircut, but they shed fine bristly hair constantly and they hide skin problems well. French Bulldogs in particular need their facial folds, nose roll and tail pocket cleaned and dried properly — that is where irritation and yeast build up. Boxers are prone to dry, flaky skin that a good bath and skin check picks up early.

Is grooming safe for a flat-faced breed?
Yes, with the right handling. Brachycephalic dogs overheat and tire quickly, so we keep the session short, keep the van cool, avoid hot high-pressure drying near the face and take breaks. Because it is one dog at a time, there is no waiting in a warm salon either.
Why do my Frenchie's folds need cleaning?
Moisture and debris collect in the facial folds, nose roll and tail pocket, and that is where yeast and irritation start. Cleaning and — importantly — fully drying them at each groom prevents most of it.
Do short-coated dogs really need a groomer?
For coat length, no. For skin, folds, ears, nails and shedding, absolutely — and those are the things that actually cause short-coated breeds trouble.
